Sciatica Relief

by Steven
(Marshfield, VT)

I have been experiencing chronic sciatica for too long and found your insight about overall flexibility to be very helpful. I quickly realized how uneven my ability to stretch was.

I went through your site and realized I was only doing the sciatica stretches (which I was already doing though the hip flexor stretch is new to me) and nothing else.

I started adding more stretches and your core strength exercises. When stepping out of the car I would always go through a significant lockup/spasm period. I have since noticed that if I really engage my core and tilt my hips to the rear it did not happen.

And now that I've started working on improving my overall flexibility I've finally began to experience relief.

It is so helpful to be able to have a resource to go to for some guidance.

Thank you for sharing your expertise.

Sciatica
by: Anonymous

I have 24/7 sciatica right entire leg. For the past 4 years. When I do a pirformis stretch to any degree, I pay for it for 3 days. It's no fun. Hard to get around it though....I teach Senior Yoga. I'm receiving Synergistic PT now.... they are working to reestablish proper movement/firing patterns, movement, ROM and muscle balance primary in the pelvis. I also went in with IT Band pain (wow) and that is almost entirely gone now. I'll check out your stuff....but don't want to screw up what the PT folks are doing.....thank you for your site. Lots and lots of learning to be had here!!
