Stephen O’Dwyer, CNMT is an integrative health and resilience coach, neuromuscular therapist, meditation teacher, and author who has spent more than 30 years helping people relieve pain, reduce stress, and cultivate lasting vitality.
He is the author of Fixing Pelvic Torsion: The Definitive Guide to Understanding and Resolving a Major Source of Unexplained Pain and Mysterious Symptoms and the creator of Relieving That Pain Online Courses, including the Postural Blueprint for Correcting Pelvic Torsion and the Stretching Blueprint for Pain Relief and Better Flexibility.
Stephen’s approach draws from an integrated understanding of health: addressing the body through alignment and movement, the breath through practices like the Buteyko Breathing Method, and the mind through meditation and mindfulness. His meditation practice spans three decades, with advanced training under Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. He regularly teaches mindfulness meditation at the OSHER Institute at Dartmouth College, guiding individuals toward greater clarity and emotional balance.
His clinical training includes extensive work in Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue Bodywork, Somatic Movement Education, Craniosacral Therapy, and Active Isolated Stretching. He has presented his work through professional seminars, medical school lectures, and advanced training programs for practitioners.
In 2004, Stephen founded Lower Back Pain Answers, one of the earliest online resources dedicated to exploring the overlooked causes of chronic pain. When the COVID-19 pandemic led to the closure of his private practice, he redirected his focus entirely to online courses, coaching, and writing—allowing him to serve people worldwide.
Today, he works with individuals ready to break free from chronic pain, stress, and limiting patterns, helping them discover greater freedom in body, breath, and mind. He also publishes Rethinking Unexplained Pain on Substack, where he shares insights from his decades of clinical practice and teaching.
A former triathlete, marathoner, and lifelong skier, Stephen lives in rural Vermont with his wife, Robin, their rescue pup, Wanda, and their eccentric cat, Chai.
